Retiring President Tom Olson chaired his last meeting with 2009 successor Mike Bauer in the wings along with new Vice-President Kate Gilbert replacing retiring Luke Bowman. Warren Krabbe continues as Treasurer for another year but was absent from the meeting due to a work commitment. Luke Bowman collected member's 2009 dues. The 2009 Secretary position remains unfilled.. The members 50-50 was won by the writer and donated to the chapter as previous guys have done. New member Bob McCarity decided to upgrade from his flying Blue and White Hawk with a RV-12 under construction in his garage. Another new member has an RV-7 underway.

Tom Olson: read the Shops outstanding items list generated by C. Westerman after which Walt Latchney volunteered to New President Mike Bauer to do the work; said the 601 project had to be relocated; that the Compass Rose Paint would be $85 times 5 cans and the city couldn't come up with the money (someone in the back suggested going halfs with the WHPA (Maybe Jack Doke could look into); the amazing mid-air a couple miles out. Bud Davidson discussed the survey results at length and suggested the Officers/Executive Committee (note there still is no secretary for 2009) meet to develop proposals for membership discussion and vote; passed out Official EAA Awards .

Both Mike Bauer and Bud Davidson discussed the 2008 Tiedown situation. Mike pointed out the very reduced sales due to weather and wet grassy areas. He proposes cutting 229 expenses while Bud pointed out that 4 hours for 4 days volunteering merits a weekly pass. Jim Newman mentioned that 62 weekly passes were available last year. Bud Davidson, Dick Wilbers, Jim Campbell Walt Lachney, Tom Olson and others mentioned previous attempts to involve youngsters and ultimately their parents. Someone thought Don Steiner did a Young Eagles flight later in the previously scheduled week due to windy conditions.

Katie Gilbert said she would see if her computer had any old 229 Newsletters as C. Westerman wanted copies on the hanger desk instead of one bulletin board copy and a years worth on the website. Jim Beisner asked for any "project motivated" people to meet at the rear of the hanger after the meeting. Duke Bleedsoe has a wire welder for sale.
