Minutes of 07 November 2009 EAA 229 Meeting.

Meeting was called to order at 09.00 by President Bauer. 24 Members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Treasurers report was read, there was some discussion on the CD amounts. A total of $19,509.51 between CD and checking account. Tom Olsen made motion to accept the report, second by Jim Newman. Motion passed.

Election of NEW OFFICERS………The floor was opened for nominations for officers for 2010 - Mel Peck was nominated for Treasurer, second by Dick Creswell, motion was then made to retain current officers for 2010 with the addition of Mel Peck, second by Tom Olsen, motion unanimously passed.

Secretary: Tonie Bauer

Treasurer: Mel Peck

Web master: Earl Richardson

Young Eagles: Volunteer needed.

It was reported that two passed members have gone west, Jack Slay and Karl Johnson.

Minutes from Octobers meeting were read, no discussion, motion made by President to accept minutes as written, seconded by Dick Creswell, motion passed.

President reported there was no tax charged at Sun n Fun and that the proper documentation was turned in.

Dues are Due $20.00

Hopefully, our locks will be changed and the new keys issued in December. Cost will be $5.00 per key.

President reported that Earl Richardson pays $85.00 a year to maintain our web site, motion was made by Dick Creswell that we pay Earl the $85.00 to maintain the web site, second by Dennis Kochan and a check was issued to Earl. Thank you Earl for all your hard work.

President received an Email from Jenny Wertz, leader of Cub Scout Pack, interested in doing a Young Eagles event in March 2010. John Amundsen from Tailwheels said they would interested in assisting with the event. Motion was made by President to continue forward with the Cub Scout event, seconded by Dick Wilbers. All were in favor. A question was raised regarding liability for flying Young Eagles, President stated that EAA handles the insurance. However, he will call EAA and verify and report back next meeting.

President received a call from Sterling Chatterton, as former EAA member who donated several boxes of magazines and other items. The magazines will be given to the Boys Club, the other items will be inventoried and a list presented at the next meeting for those interested in receiving an item.

November 21, is the Tailwheels Give Back to the Community Event. EAA 229 will have tables set up with coffee and donuts from 8am - 12 noon. Volunteers were asked for, 6 offered their help.

Sun n Fun - There was discussion on the amount of tiedowns for 2010. Sun n Fun asked for 300 sets. Motion was made by Tom Olson for 300 sets, second by Jack Doke. After further discussion, Dick Creswell amended the motion to 350 sets, seconded by Jack Doke. Motion passed.

President gave thanks to Charlie Westerman for all his hard work over the summer, in appreciation his dues are paid for by the chapter.

The 50/50 drawing was won by Dennis Kochan who kindly donated the money to the chapter.

Motion made by president to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Earl Richardson.
